From Style Match to Friendship Match

Not only are Rotators finding their style matches on the app, they're finding new found friendships. From trying on a dress for size to meeting up for dog walks, we spoke to Lenders in our community who have made friends with one another.

Meet Rotator's Anna & Alanna

"In 2022, when I first started renting my wardrobe, Alanna popped over to try on a Rixo dress for size. As I opened the door, I mentioned to Alanna that I had 3 friendly dogs, to which she replied "I am picking up a rescue greyhound tomorrow". It was fate that my three dogs were lurchers (whippet x greyhounds), and Alanna proceeded to have lots of puppy cuddles!

Since then, Alanna has rented from me a few times, trying a Needle and Thread dress, Stine Goya top, and an amazing rainbow sequin dress that she's rented twice. I also have my eye on a Ganni dress that Alanna has available on her shared wardrobe. We've also of course since met up for coffee and dog walks!

What I love most about BR is the community, and in renting my wardrobe I've met so many wonderful people with the same style as me - who also give me new ideas about how to style the outfits."

Meet Rotator's Lucy & Polly

"I first met Polly when she rented a dress from me on By Rotation for Wimbledon a few years ago.  As we communicated, we discovered we both had a love for the same unique brands, and had a mutual obsession with dresses. We are really into small independent brands, often made to order pieces - so we both know how hard it is to obtain some particular pieces."

"From having such similar tastes, our friendship grew, and we began Whatsapping each other daily, which we still do to this day.  Aside from discussion on fashion, we have also gone through life’s ups and downs together and regularly meet up for dinner dates etc. Polly and I both have young sons, under school age, and I am confident they will grow up as friends - we even share the boys' wardrobe with one another too.

The one particular dress that Polly rented for Wimbledon, is one she had missed out on purchasing from the designer. Now we very often exchange dresses with one another. This has enabled us to become more sustainable, in that we buy/choose far more wisely as we share/combine our wardrobe together.  This saves us money and helps the planet at the same time.  We steal/rotate each other’s wardrobe (for holidays, xmas etc) and seek advice from each other on what to wear for a special occasion. Polly and I have also met other friends through each other, which is also lovely. I’m so grateful to By Rotation for having brought us together. I value Polly’s friendship immensely."
