Eshita's Guide to Capri

Capri is not only known for its ultimate La Dolce Vita way of holidaying, but also the beautiful Faraglioni rocks which regularly feature in iconic fashion campaigns. For me, revisiting Capri with my newfound style and career captured the island through a new lens.

Read on to explore my itinerary.

Where did you stay in Capri?
We stayed at a beautiful villa I found via Airbnb in Marina Piccolo, the more private side of Capri that faces the famous Faraglioni. It was quite the treat waking up to these views every morning in our own private space.

I’d highly recommend staying on this side of the island if views are important to you. Only downside would be having to take a taxi for the town but we loved walking and getting our steps in!

What did you pack?
While I now gravitate towards effortless dressing on holidays, the atmosphere of Capri demands stylish ensembles. I treated myself by renting iconic pieces from some of my favourite holiday brands: Zimmermann, Wear Marcia and Chanel.

Rent Zimmermann Dress, Chanel Bag, Chanel Earrings, Wear Marcia Dress and Zimmermann Skirt

My travel essentials consist of: Sommer Swim and Missoni bikinis, Loewe basket bag and Aspinal of London diary.

Top piece of style advice for Capri?

I learnt this the expensive way, but there is really no need for heels in Capri. Opt for chic sandals instead and if you don’t own any, Bottega Capri in the town centre will make you custom-made sandals within 20 minutes. They also make a great souvenir!

Where to eat?

Gennaro’s at Hotel La Palma
In the Capri town centre - Incredible food, elegant environment and great for people-watching

La Zagara in Anapcapri
This was my favourite meal. I’d highly recommend making the trip to Anacapri and eating here.

Da Paolino
I’d avoid going here (another lemon-themed restaurant) as it is very over-hyped and lacks a sophisticated ambience.

Villa Margherita
A family-owned Italian affair, I would recommend this restaurant for a romantic date. Try to watch the sunset from here.

La Fontelina, Beach

This is an ultimate must if you like sun-bathing, relaxed beach clubs and people-watching; it is perhaps the best-known beach club in the world. Pre-booking is essential (so as to avoid any in-person issues!) via email and I would highly encourage having lunch along with sun beds. If possible, request to be as close to the sea as possible - the ownership is very tricky and they are very particular about where you can and cannot sit.

What to do whilst in Capri?

I loved exploring the small town of Capri, in particular soaking up the local “holiday fashion” boutiques. They are so much more bolder with the way they style an outfit! It inspired me to be more experimental and creative this summer as lately I felt I had been channelling a more “effortless” (or lazy?) energy to my dressing.

Running out of time in my hectic schedule ahead of the trip, I had perhaps the best French manicure ever at Rada Nails (who apparently has done nails for any celebrity that has spent a decent amount of time on the island).

Villa San Michele in Anacapri - A beautiful and elegant villa and gardens open to the public with classic art works, interiors and panoramic views above Capri. Perfect for that Instagram culture shot!

I also worked from our villa in the mornings which made me feel so proud and grateful of what By Rotation has achieved over the years. Seeing the Faraglioni every morning in front of my laptop screen, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed that I had finally found a way to create the work-life balance I knew would be healthy in order to continue leading our important mission in transforming consumption for good.
