Meet Deborah Brett, ex-Fashion Editor and Celebrity Stylist, now Ceramicist, who is sharing her wardrobe on the app. Deborah was a fashion editor for 25 years, styled celebrity covers, and worked on some of the hottest London Fashion week shows. Then 5 years ago she transitioned her career by retraining to be a ceramicist, leading to dbCeramic being born.

What is your secret formula for creating the perfect Christmas tablescape?

I love a Christmas tablescape - somehow during this festive season you can get away with more. So channel your inner magpie and layer up your table with everything from baubles to spray-painted fruit for decoration. I love adding eucalyptus along the centre of the table or tucked into serviettes with a hand-tied ribbon. It adds such a beautiful scent and atmosphere to the room. I also love daubing my dried hydrangeas in PVA glue and then sprinkling them with glitter.

Your top 3 dresses to get the ‘Hostess with the Mostess’ look?

You can’t go wrong with The Vampire’s Wife tartan dress, I love tartan for the holidays, it’s so festive. Anything in red or green, like the Bernadette Antwerp one-shoulder bow dress. It’s so striking and there’s nothing better than matching the tree at this time of year. Simone Rocha’s pearl-encrusted cream prom dress is so festive and elegant.

What are you wearing this Christmas for hosting?

I love mixing cosy with chic. To that note, I will be pairing a Nordic knit with a sequin pencil skirt for some festive glamour!

What is your most loved Christmas tradition?

Making my gingerbread or ‘Knusper Haus’ each year from scratch and then watching my family eat it on Christmas Eve

What's one item that can not be missed off the Christmas table?

My new dbCeramic crackers. I hand-made over 1000 ornaments this year, so we could fill our teal bubble Christmas crackers with something really special. I love that guests will be able to have a special keepsake to take home and hang on their tree.

Which dining set will you be using this Christmas?

Good question! It’s always so hard to choose but I think it might have to be the teal, to match my new crackers!
