Tell us a little about yourselves...
We’re Emma and Hayley, the sister-in-law duo behind @YourSistersDress.
I’m Emma, 35, living in Northern Ireland with my husband and two energetic young boys. I’m a social worker by profession but am now a stay-at-home mum. Renting out our wardrobe has been a great way to have an income whilst also being able to look after my kids, take them to clubs and pick them up from school.
And I’m Hayley, 36, based in London. After poor health halted my career as a set designer in the film industry, I decided to retrain as a Pilates teacher. This new path, combined with our fashion rental business, has given me a renewed sense of purpose."
How does @YourSistersDress work?
We pooled our wardrobes together into one user account and share the effort and earnings, making managing our By Rotation profile a collaborative and rewarding experience.
Emma handles the logistics, as she has more space to store our collection in Northern Ireland and with her busy schedule tending to the kids, she juggles trips to the dry cleaners and post office with ease, ensuring each piece is pristine and ready for its next adventure. Hayley, based in London, takes care of listing our items, answering inquiries, and documenting our rental journey on social media.
It’s so exciting waking up and discovering one of us has accepted some rental requests either late at night or early in the morning before the other is awake. We always send a little happy voice note to one another celebrating another request!
We stay connected via WhatsApp every day, chatting about upcoming rentals, styling tips, and generally having a laugh. This has given us a reason to stay in touch regularly outside of family life, deepening our friendship even more.

Why did you start rotating your wardrobe?
We’ve always borrowed clothes from each other for events, but the idea for @YourSistersDress truly took shape when Hayley was looking for outfits for her civil wedding ceremony and stumbled upon ByRotation. It felt like raiding your sister’s wardrobe, and that’s how our user handle was born. We decided to open up our wardrobes to others to give garments more life and wear because a beautiful dress deserves to be worn.
